First we drive our classic car along the banks of the Danube (a UNESCO World Heritage site) with spectacular, panoramic views of the historical bridges, Margaret Island, the Parliament, Buda Castle and Gellért Hill.
Then we visit Statue Park where you can take a selfie with Lenin, Soviet soldiers or communist heroes from the past. Stroll amongst the gigantic monuments from the communist dictatorship and the propaganda statues that once lined the streets of Budapest.
Next on the agenda is a fascinating tour of Gazdagrét housing estate, a vast expanse of concrete and a living example of blooming socialism. Here you can experience home life under a communist dictatorship (famously once visited by Mihail Gorbacsov’s wife).
We end the day as many good days end, with a visit to a pub. On this occasion we will be visiting Muskátli pub where we will enjoy a drink in this perfectly preserved, ex-model housing estate atmosphere.
